Professional Experience

There is still lots of information missing here, namely most of the pages under Chronology, Companies and Projects are blank (sorry, time will provide ;-).

My professional career started in 1989, immediatelly after getting my degree as "Engineer in Computer Science" (E.C.S), at FCT/UNL. My first job was at the R&D department (DTA-ID) of EDP - Electricidade de Portugal, where I was involved in the ESPRIT Project - DIAS.

In the beggining of 1990, I was recruted by a startup software house, SSF - Serviços de Software Financeiro, that eventually became known as EasySoft (and later as Audaxys by easysoft). Besides its strong solutions in finantial software (since the beggining, EasySoft has always been the leader of the portuguese market), SSF was also responsible for the creation of the worldwide known product suite EasyPhone (today better known as Altitude uCI) that resulted in the spin-off of a new company: EASYPHONE (later renamed Altitude Software).

Later in April 1997, I've decided to establish myself as a freelancer. Until 1999 I worked for several companies: EASYPHONE, EasySoft, Intervento, ServiSoft, Viatecla.

In January 1999, I've returned to EasySoft (former SSF) has VP for R&D, to face the challenge of setting the ground for technological upgrade of the company software solutions. During that time I've completed my certification as a Microsoft Solution Developer (MCSD).

In the Spring of 2000, I've decided to return to the market as a freelancer, and till December 2004 I've worked for: Altitude Software, Audaxys by easysoftBPI Leasing/Factor, EasySoft, FCT/UNL. During this period I've also dedicated quite some time to study and evaluate the Microsoft .NET Framework, using as a case-study the site of a non-profit organization dedicated to outdoor activities (CAAL).

In the end of 2004, I've joined CENTRIA (a Research centre of UNL, located at FCT/UNL) as an associated member, under invitation of Prof. Dr. Luís Moniz Pereira. Since the beggining of 2005, I'm working there as Working Group Assistant for WGI5 of Project Rewerse.
